I still remember the first time I realized I had bags under the eyes. Funny enough, that was when I got contact lenses. Wearing glasses every day made me ignore that I had been carrying this baggage for so long until I switched to contacts. Pardon the pun, but that was eye-opening to say the least! When I don’t get enough sleep (which I always do), my bags under my eyes get even worse, so an eye firming treatment is something I always seek. (I would have said “keep an eye out” but I’m trying not to punish you too much.)
Dr. Brandt’s Needles No More Collection is a long-time favorite for skincare fans, including its No More Baggage Eye Gel for others suffering from bags under the eyes. The entire range, including the eye gel, has recently been redesigned with an improved formula. This couldn’t be a better time for me and my puffy eye situation! Meet Dr Brandt No more luggage 2.0 ($48).
How it works
Dr. Brandt gave No More Baggage a big upgrade. While No more luggage 2.0 Still has the brand’s exclusive Filmatrix technology – an invisible second-skin film made from algae, plant extracts and silicates – it also comes with improved hydration, cleaner ingredients and a more pleasant texture. It also contains a caffeine-tetrapeptide blend; tetrapeptides decrease fluid around the eyes, while helping to fight the loss of collagen and elastin. And caffeine is, of course, a great ingredient to help eyes look brighter and more awake.
As New York beautician Jolie De Feis previously told Well+Good, “Caffeine is a vasoconstrictormeaning it reduces blood flow, making it a popular addition to eye products to reduce the appearance of puffy eyes and improve overall brightness.
My sincere thoughts
First of all, it’s not your typical eye cream. In fact, the brand suggests using an eye moisturizer before applying No More Baggage, so I used The Sea The Eye Concentrate, which also has a gel-like consistency and absorbs quickly. Once it’s dry, you put a small amount of No More Baggage 2.0 on your fingertips, warm it up, then pat it gently around the eye area. Wait about three to five minutes to let it dry completely.
Because it’s a different type of eye care product, I did it completely wrong the first time, so make sure you apply it correctly and take your time to let the eye moisturizer dry completely. you use beforehand and No More Baggage. This is extremely important, otherwise you might end up getting pills, like me. Once I did it right, it worked great! I noticed my under-eye area was brighter and more hydrated, and the contours around my eyes looked much less dark. I was also able to put on my concealer without any problems. In fact, my makeup looked amazing! Basically, if you’re looking for an eye cream that acts as an IRL social media filter, this is your best bet.
If you too have bags under your eyes or dark circles, you must try No More Baggage 2.0. Just be sure not to rush through the application process and give yourself a few minutes to let everything dry. You’re going to trick everyone you know into thinking you slept well last night, even though you should be getting enough! (I tell myself that, TBH.)
