“I allow my look to influence and speak to the vibe, the feeling, the dynamic, the intensity of the class I’m leading,” Love says. “If I go out in pink, you know we’re having a good time. If I go out in red or something dark, then we’re probably going straight up some hills.
Can it really be this tete-a-tete? Love feels strongly that the way she dresses at times influences and reflects his mood. So much so that in high school, if she dressed in a hurry and ended up in a “blabla” outfit, she sometimes ended up feeling depressed, so her friends would change clothes with her to brighten her day. “From an early age, what I (wore) impacted my mood and my perception of my experience,” Love says.
This momentum continues today. “I try to align my outfit with how I want people to feel in the classroom experience,” Love says. “I’m pretty strategic about what I choose to wear, especially for my Peloton classes. I try to choose colors that literally match the perceived effort. Everything about me is aligned with the amount of intensity (or lack thereof), so that’s important to me.
For someone whose mood is so affected and reflected in her clothes, Love pays a lot of attention to what clothes she puts on her body, including her Peloton outfits. That’s why, when it comes to her outfit recommendations, you know she doesn’t choose lightly. From the bike to the street to the office, here are some of Love’s favorite (colorful) pieces from Peloton’s spring collection. Keep an eye out for them the next time you join one of its rides – it could be a clue to how fast and furious you’ll be pedaling.
Platoon outfits worthy of the queen of color
Performance Rib Racerback Tank — $48.00
Sizes available: XS-XL
Love says you can pair this cool mint green tank top with more than just leggings, like pants and blazers, jeans, skirts, and more, making it a versatile piece that deserves a spot in your wardrobe. When you wear it to ride, however, the performance fabric will go all the way to keep you comfortable. Soft, stretchy fabric moves with you, so you won’t have to worry about chafing, digging, or holding on.
Seamless one-shoulder cropped bra — $46.00
Love likes to wear matching workout outfits which she elevates with a sweatshirt or oversized button-up shirt. Take this one-shoulder sports bra, for example. The seamless longline fit looks sleek and fashionable under jackets, sweaters and other layers. While it’s probably not supportive enough for high-intensity sweat sessions, it’s great for low-impact workouts like yoga, stretching, and walking.
High-Rise Seamless ⅞ Legging — $76.00
If you want to match your workout wardrobe, pair the sports bra above with these matching purple leggings. The solid stripe along the leg shows the world you mean business, while the soft, supple fabric keeps you comfortable whether you’re lounging in yoga class or on your sofa.
Ribbed Yoke Hoodie — $98.00
Go for navy blue when you want a cozy and comfortable work-from-home vibe. This classic hoodie is made from French terry cotton that’s perfect for all seasons and looks as chic as it is comfy. Expect everything you’d expect from a timeless hoodie, including a kangaroo pocket and drawstring hood. Only this one has a V-shaped ribbed back panel that gives it an edge over all the other sweatshirts in your wardrobe.
Classic sweatpants — $76.00
Love pairs the above hoodie with a preppy button down and matching sweatpants for a polished school look. But the good news is that you don’t have to dress them up; they also go well with workout tops, sports bras, camisoles, and more. Just as Love suggests, wear what feels good and matches your mood.
